How referrals work
A simple referral loop for sharing TimeLens and earning credit when people join.
- Get your link: Sign in and copy your personal referral link or code from this page or Settings → Invites.
- Share anywhere: Send it on WhatsApp, email, social, or embed it when you share templates, checklists, circles, and planner templates.
- Earn when they join: When someone signs up through your link, you move up the waitlist, earn 15 XP, and progress toward referral badges.
Where referral links count
Referral attribution works across direct signup links and shared TimeLens surfaces.
- Direct signup link: Your link looks like /signup?ref=YOURCODE. Friends who register with it are attributed to you automatically.
- Templates & checklists: Public or invite-only checklist, project, and planner template shares include your referral code in the URL so copies and signups credit you.
- Circles: Circle invite and public share links carry your code — new members who join TimeLens through that path count toward your referrals.
- Assigned teammates: When you invite someone to a task, their signup invite link also includes your referral code for attribution.
- Waitlist position: Each successful referral moves your waitlist number up by one spot (starting from your signup position).
- XP, levels & badges: Referrals add to your Connect activity, award 15 XP each, and unlock the ten referral badges on /earn. Levels climb through overall platform activity — not XP alone.
Referral FAQ

- How do I get my referral link? Create a TimeLens account, then open this Refer page or Settings → Invites. Your code and link are ready to copy or share on WhatsApp, email, and social.
- When do I get credit for a referral? When a new person signs up using your link or a share URL that includes your ?ref= code. You see them in your referral list once their account is created.
- What XP and badges do referrals give? Each successful signup earns you 15 XP and counts toward referral badges (Friend Spark through TimeLens Ambassador). XP also feeds your overall progress on the Earn page; levels require broader platform activity across 52 levels.
- Do template shares count? Yes. When you share a checklist, project template, planner template, or circle, the link includes your referral code. If someone signs up from that link, you get credit even though they discovered a specific template first.
- What can I see about people I referred? You see a display name (or a privacy-safe label) and status — for example active, on waitlist, or invited. We do not show their email or phone to referrers.
- Does my friend need to be approved before I earn credit? Referral credit is recorded at signup. Waitlist movement and XP apply when the signup completes through your link; approval status may still affect when they can use the full app.
- Can I use someone else’s referral link and still share my own? Yes. If you joined through a friend’s link, we show who referred you. You still get your own code to share with others.
- Where do I track referrals in the app? Open Settings → Invites for your live list, waitlist position, and XP estimate. This page explains the full program; Invites is your dashboard.
